Rainy Thursday

Photos Belong to the EverDay diary.

Normally I hate rain, today it was sublime.  I'm in Philadelphia for work and had dinner reservations at a fantastic brasserie.  I had a window seat with a glass of Framboise and duck confit.  It was so peaceful watching everyone hurry home, take their dogs out in Rittenhouse Square, and rain splatter the windows.  A relaxing evening for sure.

Morning Rush

You know those mornings when you are running late and despite a closet busting at the seams you can find nothing to wear?  That was me this morning, trying my darndest to find something suitable and get out the door before I missed my bus.  Nothing seemed to work out and all I wanted was to look something like this girl, or close to how she looks, or half as good as she looks, or...oh you get it.

Chasing Birds

Video Belongs of the EverDay diary.

While on the mall Saturday, Milo discovered many new animals hr didn't know existed. We got him in November and lets face it, it was a cold winter.  He saw his first squirrel, first flock of pigeons, and, as evidenced, his first seagull.

Weekend in Numbers

1.) Started off the weekend by making homemade cinnamon rolls with this recipe.

2.) Although it was cold we took the boys down to the kite festival on the mall, too bad only a handful of kites showed up this year.

3.) G's birthday is Thursday but since I'll be out of town for work we celebrated this weekend.  I made grilled asparagus, oven roasted potatoes, and tangy spiced short ribs using this recipe. I also got him a cake from CakeLove

I know the prices of a few of these might be steep but I think they are totally worth it.  A lace blazer and a great leather coat, I think are essentials.  A comfy throw for the sofa or bed are a must for my cold blood.  And who can resist an impeccable pair of gold glitter flats?  Not me.

I long for the day when I can move out of my rental and own my own home.  The first order of business would be to install wallpaper in a nook or foyer and in a small bathroom.  I remember when I was younger and wallpaper was considered old and doudy, now anymore!

What is it about the French women that exudes style?  Is it their confidence?  Is it there effortless way of dressing and approach to life?  We could all use more basic pieces that work overtime, that make us look fabulous, and make us feel fabulous.
